Organization Overview

Yirong Coffee is a true leader in coffee farming in Menglian - they already have 30 years of coffee farming under their belts. The organization has their own coffee farms and a processing plant where they receive cherries from smallholder producers. Today, they have nearly a thousand producers that deliver cherry to Yirong. Yirong was the first farm in Pu'er City that dedicated itself to organic prodution and in 2020, it became the first plantation in Menglian to export organic coffee to Europe.

Organization Overview

Founded in 2007 on an initial 3.3 hectares, Huangguan Coffee grew under the leadership of Xia Bin, a former technician at the Pu’er Agricultural Research Institute whose work with Nestlé sparked his entry into coffee.

Based in Simaogang Town, the company expanded from cultivation and primary processing into trading through long-term partnerships with Nestlé, Starbucks, and LDC. Today, Huangguan Coffee trades around 3,000 tons annually and manages two Arabica plantations totaling more than 133 hectares, making it a major coffee producer in Pu’er.

At 63, Yan Gu has led coffee development in Fuyan Town since 2007.
